The meeting, at which numerous companies, research centres and institutions were present, was convened in response to the current need for definition and certification of standards for both plants and solar field components. During this initial meeting, the following priorities were laid down regarding the standardization of electricity systems based on solar thermal energy conversion. Standardization of procedures to be followed in plant feasibility studies, with precise performance criteria for specific plants and subsystems. This is aimed at making it easier to measure performance and speeding up the acceptance process. * Standardization aimed at categorizing specific solar field components such as modules, loops, and complete solar fields. * Standardization aimed at classifying heat storage systems. The various working groups will hold their first meeting over the coming days.
